A 5 inch gauge GWR 45XX chassis, complete with brass side tanks, built to a good standard by a man apprenticed at the Stratford Works of the old Great Eastern Railway in the latter days of steam - specialising in valve setting, he ended his career working on diesel locomotives. It's come to us along with his 3 1/2 inch gauge GER T19, "Tich" 0-4-0T and LNER "Bantam Cock".

The chassis turns over without tight spots, it's close to running on air, seemingly needing only valve chest covers. The current ones, in perspex, were fitted to show apprentices the working of the valve gear.

Complete with reverser and brake stands, brake gear and crosshead pump.
