The chassis runs on air in both directions with the inevitable "optimisation opportunities" provided by these kits (it actually runs with quite decent square beats - the valve are set accurately - but pistons and/or valves allow air past, they will require stripping to repack the pistons and lap the valves in).
The CE marked boiler has had a twice working pressure hydraulic test, we would warranty it as sound.
Feed is by injector and hand pump - there is a mechanical pump fitted, but the pipework has been re-used for a quickfit adaptor on the rear bufferbeam, presumably for use with either a hand or electric pump mounted on the driving truck.
The locomotive arrived with us sporting the biggest pressure gauge which we've ever seen on a 5 inch gauge locomotive, which was a complete eyesore! Removed for the hydraulic test, something more suitable will be fitted before the engine is shipped to a new owner.
