I sold this engine some time ago, the pictures are from last time round, although it is in substantially the same condition now as then - there is a clip of it running in the workshop last week here.
A 5 inch gauge "King" built to Keith Wilson's design. The engine was completed in 1999 and was run for several seasons until laid up in 2003 as work progressed on the builder's latest project, an Adams Radial Tank in 7 1/4 inch gauge.
Silver soldered superheated copper boiler built by Swindon Boilers, working pressure 90psi, feed by twin injectors with hand pump in tender. Four cylinders with piston valves, inner set actuated by Walschaert's valve gear with derived motion to outside valves by rockers. Steam operated drain cocks, mechanical lubricator between frames.
There are various jobs required to recommission the engine, however it is in essentially sound condition - the work of a professional machinist, it runs very quietly - fit and finish of the motion work is excellent.
Complete with extension controls for reverser and regulator, which allows those of us with a little more middle than we used to have to drive in comfort!
