A well-made Great Western 455 tank to Martin Evans' elegant double-framed "Metro" design.
Silver soldered copper boiler, 100psi working pressure, feed by injector, crosshead and hand pumps. Gunmetal cylinders with slide valves actuated by Stephenson's gear with screw reverser in the cab. Mechanical lubricator.
I like this design - we've had several in over the years, it's small enough to be easy to handle yet still big enough to do a decent job of work, the looks convey an air of Victorian elegance. This one goes well, we had it in steam last week when the boiler inspector visited - there's a clip here (of the engine, not him).
