A well-made Great Western 2-4-0 to Martin Evans' "Metro" design for an elegant, late nineteenth century fast suburban tank engine.
Copper silver soldered boiler, feed by injector and crosshead pump with auxiliary hand pump in rear bunker. Cylinders with slide valves actuated by Stephenson's valve gear with screw reverser in cab, mechanical lubricator.
There are nice touches that the builder has added, most welcome of which are the discretely fitted axle box oilers on the top of the side tanks and in the cab, which make lubrication of the driving axles very much easier. The engine has a screw down mechanical brake which is currently more ornamental than functional, the nut requires replacement.
