This one has come to us with a collection of other engines from a friend with wide-ranging interests, from an 8 ton Aveling & Porter steam roller to a vintage Piper Cub aeroplane - he came up to the works last year to retube his 4 inch scale Foster which featured in our blog at the time.
This engine has been in use at a private ground level track in recent times. It's had a boiler test here with new certification issued, the engine runs well on the rolling road - free steaming and notching up in either direction.
Boiler feed is by injector, axle and hand pumps; pumps take water from the pannier tank, the injector is piped up to feed from a separate tank - the previous owner had one fitted to his driving truck.
Paintwork has been redone in recent times, from green to black BR livery - there is some wear, with its previous colour showing through on the valances.
