A nicely made example of LBSC's "Pansy", based on the ubiquitous Great Western Pannier tank.
Silver soldered copper boiler, feed by axle pump and injector with auxiliary handpump to rear of footplate. Gunmetal cylinders with slide valve actuated by Stephenson's valve gear with pole reverser in cab. Sight feed lubricator.
It had a bottom end overhaul two years ago, the motionwork is in good order. Paintwork wouldn't embarrass you down at the club, although there is scope for improvement as the estate agents like to say.
Boiler has, in the past, had a leaking superheater flue which was blanked off (allegedly from new, when the builder nicked it with a drill with which he was drilling the inner dome mounting bolt holes). It had a club boiler test in June with a new hydraulic certificate to June 2010, steam certificate to June 2007 - the steam test in June was the last time it ran. Although the club inspector was obviously happy with it, I think there is a leak from the smokebox end blanking plug in the superheater flue - it needs cleaning and a new dose of Comsol.
It comes complete with a set of construction articles and wooden carrying stand.
