I sold this one back at the beginning on 2006 - it's just come back in exactly the same state, having never made it to the top of the previous owner's project list. Pictures are from back then, it looks pretty much the same now, with some light surface rusting which removes easily.
A complete rolling chassis for a 5 inch gauge Southern "King Arthur", complete with tender chassis. Originally built from a kit, the previous owner had gathered a good deal of information and drawings to continue the build on a conventional, built from castings basis.
Work to date comprises:
Chassis complete with horns, axleboxes, springs and wheels quartered and
keyed.
Axle pump fitted complete with eccentric drive
Piston valve cylinders, complete with pistons and valves - both pistons and
valves are tight in their bores and require dismantling
Drain cocks complete with operating linkage
Tender rolling chassis complete compensated brake gear and sole plate for tank
There are two sets of drawings with the engine, one for the 5 inch gauge Greenly design (which builds into a cracking engine - I had one in a couple of years ago, pictures in the archive) the other for Martin Evans' offering in 3 1/2 inch gauge.
This would give a good start on which to continue a scratch build, finishing up with a large, powerful locomotive.
