A well-built locomotive, the work of a prolific, award-winning model engineer with thirteen locomotives to his credit, including LNER A4, Merchant Navy and LMS Duchess as well as the superb LNER B2 we've sold recently.
This, the first engine he built, has been in regular club use until recently, its last outing a month ago.
As might be expected given its provenance, the engine steams freely and runs very well. Bottom end will need some rebushing at the next overhaul, but for now is entirely usable.
