A LB&SCR "Terrier" to Martin Evans'"Boxhill" design, rather well built by a gentleman in his retirement - having made a decent job of putting the engine together, his nerve gave out at attempting the rather elaborately lined livery of the original so it got a coat of satin black and some rather perfunctory lining on the tanks. On completion it was used infrequently and not at all in the last few years - certainly from the condition of the motionwork is has seen little work.
Silver soldered copper boiler with superheaters, 100psi working pressure, feed by crosshead pump and injector with hand pump in side tank. Gunmetal cylinders with slide valves actuated by Stephenson's gear, pole reverser in cab, mechanical lubricator.
