A well-built 5 inch gauge Liverpool & Manchester Railway "Lion", to LBSC's "Titfield Thunderbolt" design.
The work of a highly experienced builder, with more than twenty locomotives to his credit over a forty year building career, he went on to build a 7 1/4 inch gauge version of the same design which we sold last year.
In good condition, the engine steams freely and runs well. The silver soldered copper boiler has had recent hydraulic and steam tests, with certification issued for same - both pumps and injector work effectively, the injector picking up slightly wet but working efficiently on the run.
One of those designs which looks just as nice displayed in the house as out on the track, its compact size making for an easy to handle engine. For now, this one will be compactly enhancing our house...
