The work of a retired maintenance engineer, he had previously built a 2 inch scale Clayton wagon and is currently well on with a 1 1/2 inch scale Allchin.
His previous occupation shows through in the well thought out modifications - including a neatly fitted ball valve regulator, quite a feat in a boiler this size - and attention to detail, including filters in all water feeds and taper pinned valve gear.
Commercially built boiler by Chambers was supplied new in 1989, the engine was completed and first steamed in 2009.
Complete with driving truck including a water tank piped through to the injector.
