A 5 inch gauge LNER A3 "Flying Scotsman", built to the H.Clarkson design and using their castings. The engine has been unused for some years, it's had a hydraulic test and been steamed in recent days - there are minor jobs to be done, consistent with recommissioning, but overall it's in good order and appears to have had light use. Paintwork is in excellent condition - we suspect it hadn't been run since its last repaint when it arrived.
Commercially built silver soldered copper combustion chamber boiler by Bishop-Ellis, 90psi working pressure. Four element superheater. Twin spring type safety valves, feed by injector and twin axle pumps with auxiliary hand pump in the tender. Three cast iron cylinders with slide valves actuated by Gresley-Holcroft gear with screw reverser in the cab. Displacement lubricator with sight feed. Steam brakes.
