It was latterly bought by a highly capable engineer with several fine engines to his credit, including a Burrell agricultural and magnificent Burrell DCC Showmans engine, both in 4 inch scale.
He undertook a complete strip and rebuild of the locomotive to put it into running order, at the same time making modifications for improved running and maintenance, including reworking the streamline casing such that it can be removed in a single piece.
The engine has been through the workshop here, boiler has been tested with new certification issued; new safety valves fitted and a new injector feed plumbed up from the tender.
It's in good mechanical order, unsurprising given the small number of steamings it's had.
Paintwork is overall good, with some retouching of the satin finish LNER garter blue needed around various fasteners securing the streamlining.
