A particularly well-built LNER B1 to Martin Evans' popular "Springbok" design, in fine condition throughout. It runs very nicely, one of the quietest we've heard - there's a clip of it on the rolling road here.
Silver soldered copper boiler by Swindon Boilers, four flue tube superheaters, 100psi working pressure, feed by twin injectors with hand pump in the tender. Cast iron cylinders with piston valves actuated by Walshaert's gear with screw reverser in the cab, mechanical lubricator.
Fit and finish of the motionwork is lovely, the engine positively glides along when pushed!
