This one has recently come in from a customer of ours along with the magnificent Britannia "Lord Hurcomb" we sold him back in 2008 (still one of the nicest I've driven).
The B1 had a long gestation: started by one man, the chassis was finished by another before the whole project was shipped off to an establishment to fit the boiler, finish off and paint.
The engine was apparently test-steamed when finished some years ago - it's been carefully stored, unused, since. Boiler is a commercially made job, CE-marked with original builder's documentation. We've hydraulic tested it - fine, as expected - and run the chassis on air.
It will undoubtedly require further commissioning work - axle pump unions leak, along with various other fittings.
