An absolutely superb example of Don Young's "Marie Estelle" design, an American style 0-4-0 Porter locomotive. The work of a professional engineer who went on to exhibition wins with the finest 3 1/2 inch gauge Great Northern Atlantic I've seen (as well as building a very nice "Tich" whilst still an apprentice, again one of the finest I've seen), the engine is in as-new condition throughout.
Proessionally-built copper boiler by Swindon Boilers, working pressure 90psi. Feed by twin injectors with auxiliary hand pump in tender. Gunmetal cylinders with slide valves actuated by Stephenson's valve gear with pole reverser in cab. Twin sight-feed lubricators in cab - the cab itself is finely made in oak.
The machining is impeccable throughout with much extra detailing, both aesthetic and functional, from the twin dummy mechanical lubricators on the buffer beam to the oilways machined into the slide bars.
