A small locomotive in this gauge, its light weight makes handling and transporting an easy one-man operation. We've had a lot of these over the years - they steam freely and run well, making an ideal introduction to 5 inch gauge live steam for those on a limited budget.
The boiler has had hydraulic and steam tests with new certification issued. A new safety valve has been fitted, the hand and crosshead pumps both work efficiently.
The engine steams freely and runs well, with some wear apparent in the motionwork and valve gear which could be attended to at a later date.
An older engine, it's cosmetically tired, although a "Dixie" is possibly one of the easiest engines to repaint - you can have it stripped down to nothing and then reassembled in a few hours!
