5 inch gauge Maxitrak Ruston battery shunter - stock code 5400
One of Maxitrak's popular 5 inch gauge Ruston battery electric locomotives. Electronic drive to two motors, geared drive to axles. Remote control unit which plugs into the cab which makes driving considerably more comfortable, particularly at ground level.
Aside from some paint loss from the dummy springing, the engine is in good order and doesn't appear to have had a lot of use. It requires a battery, increasingly we use the dry fit type which are easy to handle and avoid any risk of acid leaking.
