An early stage project to Martin Evans' "Nigel Gresley" design for a Greath Northern 2-8-0 goods engine.
Work to date comprises:
Frames, buffer beams and stretchers erected.
Horns, hornstays, driving wheels and axles machined and fitted
Cylinder blocks, valve chests, covers, pistons, rods and guide bars machined
Smokebox, smokebox door with locking bar, saddle and chimney part-made, loosely
assembled
Steam and exhaust smokebox pipework
Screw reverser stand
Pair part-finished connecting rods
Tender rolling chassis
There are unmachined castings for:
Spare cylinder blocks
Dome
Grate
Motion brakets
Nameplates
