An early stage 5 inch gauge Standard Class 2 to Don Young's excellent design, complete with a set of drawings and copies of his construction articles, serialised in "Locomotives Large & Small".

Work to date comprises an erected set of frames with machined wheels, axles and horns. Cast iron piston valve cylinders have been part machined, there is a box of castings including outer dome, chimney, smokebox door and petticoat pipe. Tender chassis is erected with wheels, axles and dummy leaf springs.

Silver soldered copper boiler is by Chambers, beautifully made as normal with his work.

Had several of these in over the years, the design performs well and makes up into a good-looking engine - there's some pictures and video of a good one we had a year or two back in the archive.
