One of the very few "Pollys" we haven't had in before - this is their "Trojan" design. I was really taken with this when I first saw it (I think it was at Bristol Show) - a clever rework of their well-proven Polly running gear into a standard gauge looking tank engine.
This one was bought as a complete set of kits from Polly by a man whose enjoyment comes from building rather than running - once completed and painted, the engine was test steamed to check valve events and run a couple of times on his garden test track. It's in substantially new condition throughout, not having done a day's serious work since completion.
Silvered soldered copper boiler, 90psi working pressure, twin safety valves. Feed by injector and axle pump with auxiliary hand pump. Cast iron cylinders with slide valves actuated by Stephenson's gear. Mechanical lubricator.
