5 inch gauge Rail Motor - stock code 5224
A particularly nicely-made "Rail Motor" to the Don Young design, well made in the first place and in good mechanical order.
Silver soldered copper boiler, 80psi working pressure, feed by axle and hand pumps. Gunmetal cylinders with slide valves actuated by Walschaert's gear, pole reverser in cab. Mechanical lubricator.
Complete with a wooden transport case with hinged metal unloading ramp - typical of the attention to detail shown in construction of the locomotive itself.
