A 5 inch gauge "Simplex" 0-6-0T to Martin Evans' hugely popular design. This one has already survived (just) a cosmetic tidy up, although the paint would be better as an undercoat than something the paying public sees, one cylinder is missing its cladding and the back of the boiler cladding looks horrible where it's been folded round the backhead. That said, it runs well, pulls strongly and has the makings of a good engine.
Professionally-built silver soldered copper boiler by R.Chambers with superheaters, feed by axle pump with auxiliary hand pump. Cast iron cylinders with slide valves actuated by Walschaert's gear with pole reverser in cab. Mechanical lubricator behind front buffer beam.
There's a clip of the engine running in the workshop here.
