An old "Simplex" which hasn't been run for many years - it went to the Model Engineer Exhibition in 1990, which may well have been its last outing. It's got a silver-soldered copper boiler with radiant superheater - the steel you see on the backhead is a cladding sheet. Slide valve cylinders with Walschaert's gear, pole reverser in the cab.
Regulator leaks like a sieve, the only reason we haven't been able to test the boiler. Motionwork is worn, several of the rods need rebushing, paintwork is horrid.
Complete with a set of tools, steam-raising blower and construction manual.
