A well-made 5 inch gauge "Simplex", from the same builder as the part-built 2-8-0 "Nigel Gresley" I had in recently.
Silver-soldered copper boiler by Western Steam, working pressure 90psi. Feed by axle pump, hand pump and injector. Cast iron cylinders with slide valves actuated by Walschaert's gear with pole reverser in cab, mechanical lubricator.
There are running lamps to the front and a lamp in the cab to illuminate the water gauge - all wired to a pair of miniature sockets underneath the running boards at the rear. One front lamp is detached and requires a bit of dextrous work with a small soldering iron to re-connect the electrics.
A nicely put together engine, it runs well. Complete with a set of firing irons, drawings and construction manual.
