A 5 inch gauge BR 9F, assembled from a kit but never run – the engine is new and unsteamed. The previous owner has fitted a rather nice, not to mention expensive, set of plates including headboard, nameplate, smokebox number and shed code, works plaque and tender signage, along with a replacement double chimney and finely detailed reverser by Doug Hewson.

Silver soldered copper boiler with superheaters, working pressure 90psi, manufacturers initial test certificate for 180psi hydraulic test. Twin safety valves, feed by twin injectors with hand pump in tender.

Cast iron cylinders with piston valves actuated by Walschaert’s gear with screw reverser in cab, mechanical lubricator. Draincocks operated from footplate.
