Freelance design single-speed traction engine, nicely
proportioned and weighing around 1 ton in working order. Single cylinder with
mechanical lubricator. Boiler feed by crankshaft driven pump - the backhead is
plumbed with valves for an injector and water lifter, neither of which are
fitted but could easily be added. Drive from crankshaft to axle is by dog-clutch
and chain - it looks feasible to convert this to all gear drive if desired.
The engine was rallied until last year. It now requires
retubing - a new set of tubes are supplied (with paperwork). The motion work is
complete but worn with play in the eccentric straps and a little in the
expansion link and pins.
Length 96 inches
Weight 20 cwt
