Probably the finest 7 1/4 inch gauge locomotive we have had over the last two years, this 4-4-0 locomotive has been built to the J.G.S.Clarke design for the locomotives supplied at the end of the nineteenth century by the Baldwin Locomotive Works for the New York & Hudson River Railroad.
Constructed four years ago, the model is finished to exhibition standard throughout. It is fitted with an all silver-soldered copper boiler, proof-tested to 160 psi for 80 psi running, fed by crosshead driven feed pump and injector. The engine is finely-detailed and fitted with steam brakes. It has been run for a total of four hours for running in purposes and is, in all respects, in brand-new condition.
The photographs speak for the quality of workmanship in this model. In addition to being a beautiful display piece, it is also a fine performer on the track. The engine is complete with tender footpegs for driving, tools, firing irons and castor-mounted storage stand.
