The work of a highly experienced model engineer, whose work over a forty year period included locomotives from 2 1/2 inch up to 7 1/4 inch gauge. It's come to us as part of a large collection of locomotives, including a new, unsteamed LNER B1 and LNER A4 test-steamed only twice from new - both in 7 1/4 inch gauge.
Work to date is to a high standard, with crisp machining - fit and finish of valve gear and motionwork is very good.
Boiler has the regulator fitted and is complete with top feed clacks and safety valves - there are water gauge fittings included loose, ready to fit.
In addition to the assembled chassis, there is quantity of loose parts including scale injectors, parts for the reverser, spare valve gear components, profiled platework for the cab and a roll of boiler insulation.
Our friends at 17D Miniatures - currently well on with their own batch of 7 1/4 inch gauge Britannias - can supply many of the parts to complete this engine if required, including anything up to and including a complete ready-to-run tender.
A large locomotive - when finished it will come out to around nine feet long with tender and weighing in at something around a quarter of a ton.
Complete with various drawings by Jim Vass Miniature Locomotives and Alan Gibson, along with some BR works drawings.
