A well-built 7 1/4 inch gauge De Winton 0-4-0VB locomotive, we've retubed and serviced it, it's all ready for the new season. The engine runs particularly well, it's a robustly proportioned locomotive which would work well on a narrow gauge themed garden railway.
Steel boiler with expanded tubes, built 2001. 90psi working pressure, feed by two injectors and a hand pump. Original safety valve was somewhat vague in operation, it's been replaced by one of our own progressive lift types in bronze. Go is provided by a double high vertical engine based on Stuart Turner 5A castings, with Stephenson's reversing gear. Mechanical lubricator.
A well thought out engine, it came to us from the builder who had used it regularly at club events. Standard of fit and finish is good throughout, it runs very quietly.
