A well-engineered example of the Hunslet "Alice" class 0-4-0 saddle
tank to Don Young's well-regarded design, 3 inch scale for 7 1/4 inch gauge
track. The engine has a copper boiler fed by twin injectors with auxiliary hand
pump and fitted with radiant superheaters. The scale backhead is
nicely-detailed, very evocative of the original engines. Outside cylinders with
inside slide valves operated by Stephenson's valve gear. Sight-feed lubricator
in cab, with oil tank beneath cab floor.
The driving trolley includes a water tank which feeds the injectors with cold
water giving reliable pickup and a decent handbrake.
