At 2500hp it was, when first introduced, the most powerful locomotive of its type, demonstrators being sent out to several railroads for trials, including the Rock Island Line.
A large and imposing model, the locomotive is just under eight feet long and weighs in at nearly one and a half hundredweight without batteries.
Built and painted to a good standard, details include dummy windscreen wipers, compressed air hoses, front and rear running lights and buckeye couplings.
Driven by a pair of 24 volt, 20 amp PM63/50-24 motors by Electric Motor Developments of Essex - one on each bogie - with 4QD control board. Supplied with a set of three brand new batteries - two driving the motors, the third providing 12 volts for the sound card and lights, whilst also adding useful adhesive weight.
