An exceptionally well-built 4 inch scale Hunslet to the Roger Marsh design, the work of an experienced engineer with many locomotives to his credit, including several commission builds - current project on the bench is a 7 1/4 inch gauge Great Western Mogul for which he has produced his own drawings and patterns.
The Hunslet originally started out with a steel Briggs type boiler, in recent years it has been fitted with a silver soldered copper boiler of conventional locomotive type. Working pressure 80psi, feed by twin injectors. Cast iron cylinders with slide valves actuated by Allan straight link gear, pole reverser in cab. Mechanical lubricator. The locomotive is fitted with steam and screw-down brakes, with vacuum brakes for the train.
The pictures tell the story on this one - the engine has come direct from the builder, is in excellent condition throughout and runs beautifully - there's a clip here.
Complete with slate wagon style driving truck and a fitted road trailer.
