You don’t see many of these in 7 ¼ inch gauge – an LMS
Jinty, created by doubling up LBSC’s “Molly” design. Built as an
apprentice project at a large engineering works in the North East – the
supervisor was a canny man and bought the engine when it was finished!
Silver soldered copper boiler, working pressure 80psi –
both boiler and steam chest pressure gauges are fitted - feed by hand pump,
injector. Cast iron cylinders with slide valves actuated by Stephenson’s gear
with pole reverser in the cab.
An older engine, the paintwork, although fairly
presentable, is getting tired. The (working) sanders are fitted to one side but
missing from the other.
We had this one in steam earlier in the week, there's a clip of it running here. Complete with a matching-livery driving truck.
