A Maxitrak "Arthur", their take on an Orenstein & Koppel 0-4-2T. The black paintwork is getting a bit tired in places, the lined blue is in good condition, the engine runs very well - there's a clip of Steve running it outside the workshop here.
Silver soldered copper boiler, 90psi working pressure, feed by injector, crosshead and hand pumps. Twin safety valves. Gunmetal cylinders with slide valves actuated by Marshall gear, mechanical lubricator. The engine is equipped with vacuum brake equipment for train braking.
By 7 1/4 inch gauge standards these make practical, easy to handle engines - it's an easy two man lift and would go in the back of the most modest of hatchbacks.
