A 7 1/4 inch gauge "Pearl", Maxitrak's take on a 1920s Kerr Stuart. It's recently come in from a local man as part exchange against a larger engine in the same gauge.
Silver soldered copper boiler, 90psi working pressure, feed by injector and crosshead pump, with auxiliary hand pump in the bunker. Cast iron cylinders with slide valves actuated by Hackworth gear, pole reverser, mechanical lubricator. The engine is fitted with a chime whistle.
Runs well, we had it on the rolling road last week for its steam test - there's a clip here. It's relatively small size makes it easy to handle, it will fit in a modest sized hatchback and can be lifted by a couple of people if necessary.
