A particularly well built 7 1/4 inch gauge "Romulus", complete with matching tender, first steamed in 2013 and in excellent condition throughout.
Silver soldered copper boiler by John Ellis, 80psi working pressure, stainless steel radiant superheaters, feed by twin injectors fed from a water tank in the tender. Cast iron cylinders with slide valves actuated by Hackworth gear, pole reverser in the cab. Mechanical lubricator.
The engine is nicely detailed, with features such as remote oil pots for the axleboxes and a smokebox vacuum gauge - the previous owner used it to set the blower. Fitted for vacuum brakes for the train, steam brakes on the locomotive, all worked from a combined driver's brake valve.
We had this one running this afternoon, a free-steaming engine that runs beautifully with dead square exhausts - there's a clip of it here.
