A brand new "Romulus" 0-4-0, just completed and requiring minor work to the tender to finish. A well-built engine, it's been steam tested but has yet to pull a passenger train - it remains, as you might expect, in ex-works condition.
Welded steel boiler with expanded tubes, 100 psi working pressure. Feed by twin injectors from water supply in tender. Cast iron cylinders with slide valves actuated by Hackworth gear, pole reverser in cab. Mechanical lubricator. The engine is fitted with vacuum brake equipment for train braking - ejector, vacuum gauge and driver's brake valve.
A well put together locomotive, fit and finish of motionwork is good, there are some nice touches like the valve chest drains (complete with a purpose-made spanner to undo them) and piped oil supply down to the return crank pin.
