Something between "new, old stock" and a "Barn find" - a 7 1/4 inch gauge "Romulus", built to Roger Marsh's popular design, unsteamed from new.
Recently recovered from a high shelf in a shed (by a stronger man than me, I hasten to add), from the amount of dust and light surface rusting just about everywhere, it looks to be many years since this one left the works.
The engine pushes along with some effort, most of the motion and valve gear is devoid of oil from storage. There is light rusting over most bright surfaces, the cab roof has a coating all over. One safety valve is missing and an unplugged fitting on the fountain looks like it once fed a whistle.
