We originally built this engine for a man who already had one of the first Staffords built - a green one. The day he came to place the order for his second engine, we had the first ever yellow engine ("Gentoo") in the workshop ready for despatch. "Looks lovely" he said, "I'll have mine the same colour".
So it was that "Mae" became the second engine we painted yellow - it was followed by half a dozen others over the years. The following year the owner bought a "Feldbahn", before having the first of our "Big Engine" FC7s (a black Feldbahn), followed by two others, both Stafford FC7s.
"Mae" has been through the works since arriving back - it was originally specificed with vacuum brakes, the owner fitted a small full-size organ-pipe whistle. Updated with the later type progressive pop safety valve, it's also had the latest axlebox springs fitted.
As usual with our own engines, we offer 12 months warranty, handbook and a starter kit including coal, oil, water treatment and a set of firing irons - exactly the same as you’d get with a new Stafford.
