Customised by the owner in line with his own ideas, modifications include a Bagnall style open cab with longer, parallel copper-capped chimney to match; water tank level gauge; hinged saddle tank lid; injector overflow extensions to the rear buffer beam; polished copper safety valve chimney and wood-decked footplate.
Since arriving back with us the engine has been through the works for a full service, the boiler has had internal inspection, hydraulic and steam tests with new certification issued.
On test it steamed freely and ran very quietly (although we'd have been surprised if a three year old Stafford didn't...)
Supplied with handbook, 12 months warranty and starter kit of coal, oil and water treatment - exactly the same as we offer with our new engines.
Current new price of a new Stafford with paintwork and lining, options and tender as shown would be £17,734.
