A large, narrow-gauge locomotive, built by an experienced engineer and based on Roger Marsh's "Tinkerbell" design although with numerous changes to suit the owner, including Belpaire-type boiler, six-coupled wheel arrangement and Walschaert's valve gear.
Silver soldered copper boiler with superheater, 100psi working pressure, feed by twin injectors. Cast iron cylinders with slide valves actuated by Walschaert's gear with pole reverser in the cab. Mechanical lubricator. Coupling and connecting rods are fitted with roller bearings, as well as the expansion links.
We had this one in steam last week, there's a clip of it running in the yard here. It's a well-made engine that steams freely and runs quietly - just the thing for running around the garden.
