No messing about ordering a few little bits and pieces at a time from Blackgates for this project. Our man, having decided to build one of Len Mason's ever popular "Minnie"s, picked up the phone and ordered:

• Set of castings
• Set of drawings
• Copy of the Mason construction manual
• Professionally-built copper boiler
• Set of professionally-cut gears
• Pair of flanged brass tender sides
• Set of laser cut front and rear spokes
• O-ring set for pump
• Stainless steel grate
• Steering chain
• Blowdown valve
• Hornplate steel
• A plethora of copper rivets

Having unwrapped the box full of stuff that arrived, he went out to the shed, rolled up his sleeves, spat on his palms and set to work. And machined, er, one rear hub. Quite nicely. But just the one.

So, a fair bit to do on this project - although not very much left to buy.
