Bought by a chap as being more suitable for his grandchildren to play with than his gauge 1 live steam locomotives, this Class 08 shunter was assembled from a Wagon & Carriage Works kit before being handed over to the little ones to paint.
The results speak for themselves There's a reason the Victorians had skilled, time-served men in bifocals hand painting engines whilst children swept chimneys. The world moves on, often not for the better I fear.
(On a lighter note, our gauge 1 expert tells me that the motor is a high quality job - and it seems to be completely free of paint).
