A useful-sized, horrible looking copper vertical coal-fired boiler. Built by a prolific model engineer whose work has featured on these pages over the years (including most recently his Bushveldt-flavour "Sweet Pea") for a large scale beam engine he built.
His projects tend to be basically sound, fairly agriculturally engineered and with only a passing interest in detailing - he's usually impatient to try it and then onto the next job - hence the utilitarian pressure gauge and general air of dilapidation. That said, I think this one has real potential - the pressure gauge would have to go, the lagging strips need removing, sanding and varnishing and the chimney needs to be two thirds the diameter and twice the height.
