Steam plant with vertical engine and duplex pump - stock code 11945

A large steam plant, weighing in at over half a hundredweight and comprising a vertical coal-fired boiler, wood lagged with brass bands and all fittings; a single cylinder vertical engine with Stephenson's reversing gear, displacement lubricator, boiler feed and condenser pumps; water tank and a duplex steam pump.

The boiler has had a hydraulic test with new certification issued. In steam, the engine ran well in either direction, the steam pump is effective at filling the boiler. The gas burner provides good control, although is undersize for the boiler if wanting to run the engine under load for prolonged periods - we would recommend a modern, ceramic type burner.
