A large model triple expansion engine, an older model which at some stage has been electrically driven by a motor in the base chain-driving the crankshaft. It turns over somewhat stiffly although without obvious tight spots - we suspect it hasn't been run on steam in years, the electric drive is no longer operational although would appear to be largely intact.
High pressure cylinder is fitted with a piston valve, slide valve for the other two cylinders with individual simpling valves taken from the main steam inlet. The engine is fitted with a condenser pump.
Unusual at this size, it would be a worthwhile project to recommission - stripped and repainted it would make a handsome, well-detailed engine.
