As good an example of Martin Evans' Caledonian Railway 0-6-0T "Rob Roy" design as I've seen, this engine is new and unsteamed. Standard of construction is excellent throughout, fit and finish of the motionwork exemplary – it runs like a sewing machine on air. Pretty much a text-book build, the pictures below show exactly how the job should be done.
Silver-soldered copper boiler, 80psi working pressure, twin safety valves, feed by axle pump with auxiliary hand pump in the nearside water tank. Gunmetal cylinders with slide valves actuated by Stephenson's gear, pole reverser in cab. Mechanical lubricator.
Complete with a copy of Evans' book on construction.
