An well-made "Ajax", comprising a silver soldered copper boiler, rolling chassis with wheels quartered and fitted with coupling rods, cylinders machined and fitted complete with steam tees and twin axle pumps along with their eccentric sheaves. Wheels turn freely, quartering and rod lengths have been accurately done.
There are three boxes of machined bits, with the great majority of the motionwork made.
Complete with a set of 1948 vintage blueprints on linen.
I like the "Ajax" design - it's a powerful engine with plenty of strength designed into the bits that matter. I've had a couple of particularly good ones through the workshop in the last couple of years - although designed as a side tank, both of these were fitted with saddle tanks, there are pictures in the archive here and here.
